Stuck Pregnancy Help
Do you have a pregnant pet, who never actually gives birth? What do you do?
There's been this tip floating around the Petz Community that I use, and it hasn't failed me yet. If you don't want to actually do this yourself, you're more than welcome to send me the pet AND
any required breedfiles it or the baby may need (otherwise I can't work with them) and I can do it for you. Also please mention if the pet is for P3/P4 or P5.
If you put 'Stuck Pregnancy' in the subject of an email, that'll help me find it quicker. I can't recall if my email address is on my site at present, but you can definitely find it
on my RKC Profile here if you need it.
HOWEVER
If you'd like to fix your own stuck pregnant pet, follow the instructions below.
This method was told to me by Commander and seems a bit quicker than the method below it! I'll keep both up though, just in case! But this one should be the quickest way to go:
The usual method sometimes takes me 20+ times to finally work. Years ago I read of another method that works for me, the very first try, 100% of the time. I would definitely recommend making a copy of the mother's file before doing this.
Make sure the stuck mother's file is the only one in the game. Open the game, take her out and pet her, then put her back. Then MINIMIZE, not close, the game. Open the computer's calendar and move the date forward two years. Bring the game back up, take the mother out. She should have her baby. (Then make sure to close the game and set the clock back when you're done!)
Way less time-consuming than the other way. Just make sure all your other Petz files are safe before doing this, of course!
This method was developed by Carolyn Horn. Minibyte made one minor change to update the instructions.
She instructs you to close the game before changing the clock because many people who use newer Windows Operating Systems cannot get the method to work unless they do so. OK, here goes!
1. Make sure the game is closed.
2. Make a temporary folder and move ALL the petz (including the stuck mom) in the Adopted Petz folder into the temporary folder. This will prevent petz from running away when the clock is changed.
3. Make a copy of the pregnant mom's file and put it into the Adopted Petz folder. Always work with a copy.
That way you will still have the original file and can start over if something goes wrong. If you have more than one stuck mom, work with just one at a time!
4. Forward the clock to 2037. Do not go further than that because some computers cannot deal with dates after 2037 and will crash.
5. Open the game and bring the mom out to see if she has had the baby. If she has not, pet her a bit, put her away and close the game.
6. Set the clock back to 1980. Do not go further back because some computers cannot deal with dates before 1980 and will crash.
7. Open the game and bring the mom out to see if she has had the baby. If she has not, pet her a bit, put her away and close the game.
8. Repeat steps 4, 5, 6 and 7 until the mom has her baby. You may have to alternate these dates several times depending upon how stuck she is.
9. She will eventually have her baby. Pet her, put her away and close the game. Set the clock back to the correct date. You can now move all your other petz back into the Adopted Petz folder.
10. If you get an error message at any point or if the game crashes when you try to bring the mom out, you have a file problem, not a simple stuck pregnancy.
If this happens, a hexer might be able to find the problem in the file and fix it.
Good luck!
